I’ve started the Can’t Get Away Club at the end of March 2013, during my residency in Galveston Island, Texas. As it has been explained in the post by the same name, this club is above all a state of mind, an inner elliptical circuit where thoughts and visions move and rest.
The name is inspired by that peculiar energy and tension that only an island can generate, sometimes translated in a feeling of being restrained, with the frustration and pleasure that it brings. Every island is supposed to sink and every year its surface slowly decreases  and – as a marine biologist once told me – it is in fact a place where people shouldn’t live.
